Glance at the IT City...

As I travel by bus, I see both side of the road is occupied like never-before in the human history. Every inch of space has a worth. From Konapanna Agrahara untill rural Bangalore...both side of the road is occupied by traders and offices. Constructions going all over Bangalore, weather is becoming unpleasant day by day, poor migrant from rural India flocking the city to earn decent money. Chaos is every where. Vehicles run 24*7 all round the year carrying logistics, carrying passengers. India was awake 64 years, in freedom struggle; even today India is struggling to serve the MNCs, to earn decent living. We were under the Bristish Raj, now under Capitalism Raj. Poverty: Is it God given?

This week I was reading a chapter "Self-Reliant Developemnt of Disadvantaged Rural People and the Role of Devlopment Professionals" by Damodar Suar. The author is a teaches psychology in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at I.I.T., Kharagpur (West Bengal). He speaks of characteristics of disadvantaged rural poor (DRP), he divides into three: 1.Behavioural Characteristics 2. Social Characteristics 3. Economic Characteristics He aslo speaks of failure of government's idealistic infrastructure developmental schemes. He say that rural poor assume that 'poverty is a God given phenomenon', 'the work of the poor is to serve the wealthy and earn living'.I feel it is not a God given phenomenon, every person has right to live a healthy and wealthy life. The poor should be helped and given as mush opportunity possible.
